Nose work classes in los angeles
Teach your dog something cool and enroll them in our Sniff School! Our 5-week course teaches you and your dog the basics of scent work which is an excellent way to engage their brain and strengthen your bond. Using competition scents and tins your dog will learn to identify and find a specific scent as well as indicate when found. You will work 1-on-1 with our trainers Karl and Casey in this 2-dog, 2-trainer course ending in a fun competition.
Schedule
Week 1
Prep time, once you book we’ll send you a scenting tin and email an instructional video so you and your dog can hit the ground running when you come to class. We’ll also schedule a video call with our trainers in case you have any questions.
Week 2
By now your dog knows that finding the tin brings good things so it’s time to start using that nose to send them to find it.
Week 3
It’s time to get fancy with dummy boxes, obstacles and teaching your dog to freeze when they find the scent.
Week 4
Real world scenting just like the pros, this week the search will include all areas of our building and if possible a vehicle search.
Week 5
Competition time, you, your dog and your trainer take on the other team in the Mutts + Munch Sniff Cup Challenge.

What is nose work?
Nose work is a scent detection activity where dogs use their natural sense of smell to locate specific odors. It’s a fun and mentally stimulating activity for dogs of all breeds and sizes.
What kind of dogs can do nose work?
Any dog! Any breed, any age!
What will my dog learn in a nose work class?
Your dog will learn to:
Identify specific scents (e.g., birch, anise, clove)
Search for scents in different environments, including boxes, containers, and outdoor spaces
Build confidence and focus
Does my dog need prior training to join?
No prior training is necessary! Nose work is suitable for beginners, and each dog progresses at their own pace.

High-value treats (something your dog loves!)
A standard leash (no retractable leashes)
A harness or flat collar (no prong or choke collars)
How is the course structured?
Our class schedule is above but it includes hands-on activities with your dog, and individualized feedback from the trainers. Sessions are small to ensure personalized attention.
